When You're Happy

Remember that Louis Armstrong song with these lyrics …

“When you're smiling, when you're smiling

The whole world smiles with you

When you're laughing, when you're laughing

The sun comes shining through”?

Not everyone WILL smile, but your concern is not to MAKE them smile … it is to let your happiness show. I find it difficult to “not” smile at someone who sends a smile my way. Don’t you?

This is part of that, “don’t let anyone steal your joy” thing. Just because someone is having a bad day, doesn’t mean that you have to have it with them.

Maybe what they need is a little bit of Proverbs medicine in them … Because their brokenness has sapped them of their smile and happiness. Be supportive and allow your happiness to rub off on them, not the other way around.

That “happy” looks good on you.
