We Are Blessed

When you wake up in the morning, do you thank the Lord that you are blessed? As a child of God, you should never wake up wondering how many “good things” you need to do today to be blessed … you already are. You have every spiritual blessing right now. You still want to do many good things, but not to achieve or earn His blessings on your life. You have those.

In today’s verse it says it plainly. He has “blessed us with every spiritual blessing.” Why? Because we are united with Christ.

He purchased our freedom, meaning He took away our striving to be “good enough“ or “do enough” to deserve His blessing on our life. It was purchased. As the old rock song says, “signed sealed delivered”, we are His.

Verse 8 is the best (in my opinion). “He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding.” He has us and gives us wisdom and understanding on top of that. We ARE truly BLESSED!

Ephesians 1:3,7-8 NLT

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. [7] He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins.
