Quit Running from God

So many of us know what we are supposed to be doing, yet we keep turning and running in the other direction. Jonah ran from what he was supposed to be doing and was swallowed up by a big ole fish. We tend to get swallowed up in our own mind. I think the biggest reason for that is thinking we “can’t do it”. And you know what? On our own abilities, we may fall short! But we have to remember something.
God would never ask you to do something that he would not equip (empower) you to do.
Do ya think Noah had a clue about building an ark? As far as I can tell from the scriptures, it had never even rained up that point, yet he was tasked with creating an ark that would hold an enormous number of animals and his family. Imagine if he would have said, “Nope, ain’t doing it, don’t know how!” He did it knowing God was actually building it through him. He was willing to be that person God empowered to take care of it.
The important thing to notice and remember is Noah had it going on with his faith. The Bible says that Noah “walked with God” He was righteous, blameless and obedient. He didn’t need to question God at every turn, like many of us seem to do.
What is it that you know you should be doing? Quit running away from it and just dive in there and do it. He won’t leave you out there hanging on for dear life. He will be your best friend and guide you, but you have to believe and obey His words found in the Bible.
