Instant Forgiveness

When something happens in an “instant”, what are we talking about? As far as the speed of instantaneous, we are seeing things “happening immediately without any delay or waiting.” An example would be fixing those instant mashed potatoes without the delay of all that peeling. And then, what about all those coffee drinkers using a Keurig instead of waiting on the pot to brew? Guilty as charged.

We sort of live in an “instant” world except when it comes to forgiveness.

If you have ever observed little children playing one minute and then suddenly disagreeing, then the next thing you know, they are skipping and maybe holding hands. They are so quick to forgive.

As adults we can either not forgive and hold onto something that happened, or we could be like we observe in the kids. We can forgive quickly and not live in the past hurt.

Christ forgave us, we MUST forgive others. And I say, “the sooner the better.”
