Choose Happy

When you make the decision to be happy instead of miserable … your life will change dramatically. Isn’t it interesting that we have that choice? As the meme says, “Joy is a decision, not a feeling”.

I know that there will be times when life just gets hard. You “feel” as though there is nothing to smile about. Stop in those moments and think about where your strength to face those times comes from. The JOY of the Lord is your strength. Nehemiah could have chosen many words to help those listening to his words…he chose the word JOY.

The law had just been read to them, and they were sad because of the weight of the guilt of their sins against God. Nehemiah didn’t say, “keep on feeling that way, you deserve to weep.” No, instead he said, “Go and celebrate with a feast of rich foods and sweet drinks, and share gifts of food with people who have nothing prepared. This is a sacred day before our Lord.”

Then to top it off he let them know that joy of the Lord is their strength. The same is true for each of us.

Nehemiah 8:10 NLT

And Nehemiah continued, "… Don't be dejected and sad, for the joy of the LORD is your strength!" #paulaandthebible #helpforyourdailywalk
