Be Generous

Being generous does not always mean money. Google helped me with this explanation. “Generosity without money means giving your personal energy, skills, and presence to lift others.” How much generosity you have is up to you.

You have to “decide in your heart” how much money, energy or time you will give. If you give grudgingly, you are not fooling anyone … especially God. It is even made clear that He “loves a cheerful giver”.

I hear many say, that we should only give expecting nothing in return. And it is true giving to get back shouldn’t be the sole reason. But I tell you this, the next verse helps us to see how God works in this “sewing and reaping” area of our lives. The scripture is plain when it says, “God will generously provide ALL you need.” And along with that, He says, “then you will have EVERYTHING you need and PLENTY left over to share.” So you see the “give and receive” principle there? When you give, you can expect a return.

Be a generous, happy individual who when given the opportunity, gives from the abundance of their heart. God rewards that.

2 Corinthians 9:7-8 NLT

You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don't give reluctantly or in response to pressure. "For God loves a person who gives cheerfully."
