The Joy of the Lord

I remember a little song we used to sing in Vacation Bible School.
“I’ve got the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart
Where?
Down in my heart!
Where?
Down in my heart!
I’ve got the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart
Down in my heart to stay”.
What follows those words is, “And I’m so happy, so very happy. I’ve got the love of Jesus in my heart”. When you think about this little song, there is a powerful answer to what many are searching for these days. Happiness!
They may not realize it just yet, but what they are looking for is something this world cannot bring them. There will always be shiny things that catch their eye and give them a sense of “this is what I need” or “surely I’ll be happy with this”. Those things are a temporary fix for something deeper.
They need the love of Jesus in their heart. They need to trade in their unhappiness, their sickness, their poverty and their sorrow for the joy the Lord brings. His resources are unlimited and give you inner strength like nothing you have ever known. You can have a contented kind of happiness this world can’t touch.
Ephesians 3:16-17 NLT
I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. [17] Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God's love and keep you strong
