Quit Tugging and Start Hugging

Probably most of you have played “tug of war” as a kid. You have a group on one side of a line pulling on a rope one way while another group on the other side are pulling in the opposite direction. That’s fun and games, but …

What happens to relationships when there are two or more people pulling in opposing sides of a situation? There will never be a good end unless one side or the other makes the decision to follow the Lord's lead. Be kind and forgive.

Wouldn’t it be great if we all took a step forward instead of being stubborn and adamantly refuse to treat people the way we want to be treated?

How can we ever get on same level of understanding if we continue to pull in opposite directions?

Bobby introduced me to a poem a few years back that he has loved. We will all do well to follow this idea of “hugging” (which I believe could be synonymous with forgiving) instead of “tugging” (being stubborn and wanting your way). Here is the beginning of it.

“I'd rather play at hug o'war, where everyone hugs Instead of tugs…”

Let’s start hugging (forgiving) instead of tugging against each other. What do ya say? Stop the bitterness and focus on love and forgiveness.

Ephesians 4:31-32 NLT

Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. [32] Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you. #paulaandthebible #helpforyourdailywalk
