Do you remember Jim Croce song, "Time in a Bottle”? My favorite part is the beginning lyrics…

” If I could save time in a bottle

The first thing that I'd like to do

Is to save every day 'til eternity passes away

Just to spend them with you”

We all have the same amount of time each day to do the things that are important to us. We should think about those that need our time; it is one of the best gifts we could give to them. Once you give your time, you can never get it back. It becomes a precious memory that lasts forever.

Bobby and I spend a lot of time together along with our Trixie and Sophie cats because we love being together and live in the same home. These times are important and should never be taken for granted. I consider this as investing time in each other.

I realize now at my age how important the time I gave to my parents and 2 of my siblings was before they passed. I have memories that bring me comfort on those hard days when I miss them. I still remember how dad would make me laugh even when I didn’t want to. I remember seeing mom light up when I would walk in a room. I learned so much about her and daddy by spending time with them. I remember my sister Linda telling me she loved me and calling for no reason but to stay in touch with me because she loved me. I remember Larry always being the big brother and taking care of his baby sister Pete (me). I miss them all so much, but oh the memories.

Now I am making “time” memories with Sissy and Jimmy on FaceTime at least once every couple of weeks if not more. They deserve my time.

The time spent with my kiddos and my grandkids means so much to me. I need that…my heart needs that. In person time is wonderful but with the great invention of FaceTime, we can have so many special moments in time and the memories we make will last a lifetime.

Just remember one day you will wish you had invested more time in making the memories and taking the pictures. Give hope to those that need hope by spending time with them.

Psalm 71:14 NAS

[14] But as for me, I will hope continually and will praise You yet more and more.
