Quit Focusing on the Rear View

The first words in today’s scripture is “forget all that”. Said in my best Italian accent, “Fuh-ged-da-boud-it”.

This is not to say you won’t look in your rear view from time to time to see what’s back there. You just don’t allow that scene to take over what is ahead for you. What’s ahead is so much greater than the difficulties or even the blessings of the past.

Just as the Israelites had to quit focusing on the difficulties and look ahead to the “something new”, we should do the same. He promised them a pathway that He would lead them through. He would meet all their needs.

We have a tendency to constantly look back (that rear view mirror stance). This prevents us from grabbing those binoculars and getting the incomparable things God has for us in our sights.

There are better days ahead, God’s already prepared them. We have to travel in the direction He leads. Allow Him to do “something new” in your life. Your future is not in your past; it’s in the NEW thing.

Isaiah 43:18-19 NLT

[18] "But forget all that- it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. [19] For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland. #paulaandthebible #helpforyourdailywalk
