No Need to Swear

Okay…a subject that is near and dear to me. “Doing what you say you will do!” You should never have to say…” I swear I’ll do it!” If your life has come to needing to swear that you will do something, then maybe you should pray for a change in how you do things. Well, there’s no “maybe” about it.

At what point did you lose your integrity? You should always be able to say “yes” or “no” and be trusted to do what you say. We shouldn’t be like everyone else out there in the world.
I must admit that most times, I don’t know who I can trust anymore. But that shouldn’t be the way of fellow Christian friends and family. We should always be trustworthy. Our word is our bond-no excuses.
Things do honestly come up that can prevent a follow-through on something, but that should be the exception and not the rule. As a courtesy, when that happens, let the person you have made a commitment to know what has prevented you from doing a particular task or activity. That way, the trust is not irreparably broken, and the relationship is not damaged.
Having integrity is so important in relationships.
I pray that I am always seen as someone that can be trusted. I will mess up (we all do) but I want to lead, follow and end with integrity. If I don’t, please call me out and then forgive me. Not forgiving someone would be a non-Christian thing to do too.
Matthew 5:37 NLT
[37] Just say a simple, 'Yes, I will,' or 'No, I won't.' Anything beyond this
