Let It Go

Gonna revisit this scripture today to cover from the New Living Translation, “let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up.”

When Bobby was in the height of his boxing phase he weighed around 147 pounds. This was the limit for the welter weight division. In order to fight in that division, he had to keep his weight there or under.
Leading up to a weigh-in, he “threw off” what was weighing him down. He would diet (or not eat), even to the point of spitting out excess liquid before time to step on the scales. He would also strip down to underwear. Doing all these things, kept him where he needed to be. (On a side note, he was pretty awesome at boxing-see picture).
What’s holding you back from where you need to be? It is time to “let go of” or “throw off” the sins that keep tripping you up. Is it gossip? Is it fear? Is it anger? Is it impatience? Is it being untruthful? Whatever the sins may be, strip them off of your life. Spit out the excess negativity and be who God has designed you to be.
If you are weighed down…let it go and shine!
Hebrews 12:1 NLT
[1] Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. #helpforyourdailywalk #paulaandthebible
