Have You Grown Up?

When we were small children, there was a level of selfishness that is hard to explain. We wanted what we wanted, and it better be now! We loved our parents, but it was a self-seeking sort of love. (Kind of like the relationship with your dog or cat). Our pets give us endless attention and affection. We make sure their every need is met, why wouldn’t they love us?
There comes a time when we need to take responsibility for ourselves. We should no longer be that impatient self-seeking kid we once were. We should be exhibiting the fruit of the spirit which boils down to love.
Our verses today come from what is considered the “love chapter” in the Bible. They are smack dab in the middle of a list of good “adult” characteristics (patience, kindness, etc) and that which lasts forever…Faith hope and love. (With love being the greatest)
We may not thoroughly understand everything at this moment in our lives, but we are looking through the lens of love to see it in the right way. We should no longer look at it as a child would. We should be looking at it as someone “grown-up” in the Word. We seek every single day to do what is pleasing to God. Read the whole love chapter 1 Cor 13 and be blessed.
1 Corinthians 13:11-12 NLT
[11] When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things. [12] Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely. #paulaandthebible #helpforyourdailywalk
