Urge to Pray

When Paul said to Timothy, “I urge you to pray”, he was using that word because he wanted to give a sense of “urgency” to pray for everyone and mentions our leaders in particular. Whether the person you wanted in leadership is the one occupying that position or not, is beside the point. We are urged to pray for them.
Being in charge of major decisions, is a heavy responsibility. Our leaders make so many judgement-calls that we know nothing about on a daily basis. Knowing that you are interceding on your leader's behalf, should give you confidence that God is hearing and answering your prayers.
We should pray that all that they say and do bring honor and dignity to the office. May the decisions they make help us live peaceful and quiet lives that please God.
Keep anger and controversy far away from your interactions with others. We will not always agree with our friends and family. Instead of being angry at others for their actions, pray. Instead of saying the first thing that comes to mind, pray. You’ve heard it said, “think before you speak” …let’s change that to “think and pray before you speak (or type)”. I urge you to take this approach.
1 Timothy 2:1-3 NLT
[1] I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. [2] Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. [3] This is good and pleases God our Savior #paulaandthebible #helpforyourdailywalk
