Beacon of Hope

None of us are immune to pain. Why must there be hurt and heartache to deal with anyway? The answer to that question is simply that we live in a world full of complicated emotions. The pain of loss can be heartbreaking. The loss could be the death of someone you love dearly, or it could be the death of a relationship. How should you deal with either of these?

The way some folks deal with pain is to cause more pain. Others want to attack it with denial and self-inflicted pain. Then there are others that have a peace and hope that their life matters to Jesus. They go through whatever the pain with a type of grace that can only come from something stronger within, a hope for a better tomorrow.

It was no easy task for Jesus to SUFFER and then to die. If He hadn’t gone through all the pain and suffering, there would be no resurrection and NO hope for us. Thank goodness for His sacrifice and perfect example of how to live and die.

When there are tough situations (and there will be) live your life in such a way that others can’t help but see your life is different. God has been so good to you and continues to carry you through any and all circumstances. They will want that too.

Allow yourself to cry with them because you have also shed tears over similar situations. You can be a beacon of hope for them. Give them something to hold on to during this tough time. Share a scripture that has given you hope and confidence.

Be ready to be happy for them and celebrate that they are seeing a light at the end of their very long tunnel. Even if your current heartache and situation have not yet come to an end, what you help see happen for others God will make sure happens for you.

Pray this with me…

“Thank you Jesus, for your constant example in my life. Thank you that you walk me through the valley. Not over or under, but through it. Thank you that my beacon of hope is in you. May I always have the grace needed to keep the right perspective and celebrate even in the middle of a tough time. May I be a shining example of how having you in my life changes me, not my circumstances. But with you, circumstances can change in an instant. I love you Lord. In Jesus name Amen!”

Romans 12:15-16 NLT

[15] Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep. [16] Live in harmony with each other. Don't be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don't think you know it all! #paulaandthebible #helpforyourdailywalk
