Be Someone Worth Observing

I was reading an article this morning about how consideration for someone else is not learned from books, but by observation. What do others observe in your daily life?

Here is what caught my eye from the article:

“Psychology says people who automatically push their chair in when they leave a table aren't just being tidy — they're operating from a deep internalized sense that their presence in a space should leave no burden on the next person, and that impulse was almost never taught, it was absorbed from a home where consideration was the only currency that mattered”

I heard a Christian leader say recently that he “always tries to leave a place better than he found it.” As an example, if he goes to a restroom and there are paper towels left strewn around, he picks them up and puts them in the trash bin. That is a simple thing, as is pushing your chair back under the table. But what if we all did those considerate things consistently?

I think it is vitally important to follow and model the right examples. We have a perfect example to follow in Jesus. We observe and keep our eyes on Him by reading the scripture and understanding it. “Observation involves careful examination and reflection on the text, seeking to understand its meaning, context, and implications.” (Biblehub.com)

… And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. [2] We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith… #paulaandthebible #helpforyourdailywalk
