I have had some trying times in my life (brought on by me) where I was allowing my path to be disrupted by the things of this world. It started small and evolved into full blown disaster. I am on the other side of it now, but the whole trajectory of my life was high jacked by the devil.

The consequences of “falling off the wagon” of my Christian walk was devastating. But God continues to place so many in my life that have helped me to realize that there is life after disaster. Life is different, but abundant in love, understanding and peace.

God never left me, I was the one who made the wrong choice. He was always there with the same promises and “open arms”. God has restored many of my relationships that were damaged, and with faith and patience, “I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.”

I tell you all of this to remind you that there are hurting people out there. Many have gotten good at hiding their pain with a smile. They hurt deeply but can’t for whatever reason take the steps necessary to make changes. But then there are those whose lives are “exploding” right before your eyes. They need an honest to goodness friend that “really “wants to see them better.

A few words to “Try a Little Kindness”

“If you see your brother standing by the road

With a heavy load from the seeds he sowed

And if you see your sister falling by the way

Just stop and say, "You're going the wrong way

You've got to try a little kindness

Yes, show a little kindness

Just shine your light for everyone to see…”

Don’t ignore what you see before your eyes. Be kind and humble as you are helping those around you, especially those you love. Guard your own life as well, so that you do not “fall into the same temptation “.

Galatians 6:1 NLT

[1] Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself.
