We always think forgiveness is something you do for someone else. It is that, but it is so much more.
We should all realize that it is for you too! Maybe even more so. As these overthinking humans, it’s interesting to note how much we don’t think about being unforgiving and the effects of that. It can cause havoc in your physical, emotional and spiritual life. It takes a toll on your entire wellbeing.
I’ve read that it adds stress and anxiety to the point of effecting your immune system and a higher risk of stroke and heart disease. Emotionally there is depression, anxiety and resentment. Spirituality there is no peace and sometimes feeling all alone and without God. This is all because you have chosen to hold on to the negative emotions instead of letting them go through forgiveness.
When God forgives, He forgets as far as the east if from the west. For us, it’s the forgetting that can mess us up. We have to make a conscious decision to forgive and not allow the memory of what took place to haunt us and put us right back in “unforgiveness”.
Let God transform you by changing how you think. Otherwise, you will get caught up in a vicious cycle that can truly harm you.
Romans 12:2 GNT
[2] Do not conform yourselves to the standards of this world, but let God transform you inwardly by a complete change of your mind. Then you will be able to know the will of God-what is good and is pleasing to him and is perfect. #paulaandthebible #helpforyourdailywalk
