What scares you the most in a storm? I think for most of us, it is the uncertainty of the outcome.

We just came through a pretty strong storm here in Southeast Missouri this morning which included a tornado that tore up property, brought down power lines and uprooted trees.

As we were in the middle of the high winds, rain and thunder…I was reminded of a song my mom used to sing as a solo.

Here are the lyrics to the chorus…

“'til the storm passes over, 'til the thunder sounds no more

'til the clouds roll forever from the sky

Hold me fast, let me stand in the hollow of Thy hand

Keep me safe 'til the storm passes by”

These words help us to understand that knowing the One that calms the storms in our lives brings us safely and security. Whether you are having to face an actual “thunder and lightning” storm or a stormy time in your life, your “safe place” can be found in Jesus. He knows a thing or two about calming storms.

Psalm 107:29 NLT

[29] He calmed the storm to a whisper and stilled the waves. #helpforyourdailywalk #paulaandthebible
