When I Look at My Hands

Today I put a couple pictures of my aging hands on to say, “when I look at my hands at this point in my life, I see my mom’s hands!” (Except her nails were almost always painted). I didn’t just wake up one morning and “Ta-Da” …Helen’s hands appeared.
I have noticed over the years that as I age, my hands have gotten older looking and remind me of what I used to see in my mom. I’m not complaining by no means. Aging is a part of living. I’m okay with that. Each year that number goes up regardless of how I feel.
When I look at my walk with Jesus over the years, I see someone that is growing in her faith. I’ve notice that as I age in that walk, I am becoming more like He would want me to be. “Far from what I once was, but not yet what I’m going to be!”
We should all want, as we look at our lives, to see Jesus there. How did He live, and does my life reflect His? Being a reflection of Jesus and His purity should always be our goal.
Just as my hands remind me of mom. My life should remind me and others of Jesus.
One day as children of God, He will return for us and we will be like Him. Until then, keep living your life for Him and helping others do the same.
1 John 3:2-3 NASB95
[2] Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is. [3] And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.#helpforyourdailywalk #paulaandthebible
