What Are You Talking About?

I love the saying, “Think before you speak!” One has been added in recent years that I also LOVE, “Think before you type!” It is just too easy to type something on social media. You are free to type whatever you want, no matter if it is true or who it may hurt or damage. We can do better my friends.

A few good rules to measure your words…

*Is it true

*Is it helpful

*Does it inform or confuse the issue

*Is it building up or tearing down

*Are you being hateful

*Are you sharing to stir up hatred

*Are you being sensible or sarcastic

*Have you checked your source

*Will what you share benefit others

*Is love the driving force

There are many ways to know if you need to be opening your mouth or touching that keyboard. You know your heart and your intention. Speak up when needed, just pause a minute and see if what you are about to say is really needed or helpful. Otherwise, as it says in today’s verse… (see below).

Proverbs 10:19 NLT

[19] Too much talk leads to sin. Be sensible and keep your mouth shut.
