We Have Hope

When you have to say “goodbye” to someone you care about, it can be a mixture of emotions. It is gut wrenching to realize that you will not be able to pick up the phone or hug their neck or just share something that just happened in your life with them. Those moments are forever changed. We have memories that bring us comfort. If you know that your loved one is with Jesus, you are happy in your spirit that they are no longer hurting or sad. That knowledge makes facing every day without their presence more bearable and is replaced with a special peace.
Our hope is so different from the world and the way we see death is more of a “goodbye for now” instead of a final goodbye. We know from the scripture at some point we will see them again, whether by our own death or Jesus coming for those that are still here. We put our trust and hope in the One who has conquered death and the grave.
I have many that have passed on before me that are enjoying the things we can only imagine. It reminds me of the song, “I Can Only Imagine”.
I can only imagine
What it will be like
When I walk by Your side
I can only imagine
What my eyes would see
When Your face is before me
I can only imagine
All I know is it will be wonderful when we see our loved ones again and even more wonderful to be with and see Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 4:13 ERV
[13] Brothers and sisters, we want you to know about those who have died. We don't want you to be sad like other people-those who have no hope.
