“You hurt me, why in the world did you hurt me? Just when I thought I’d found someone to trust…you hurt me”. (A few Lyrics from a song by LeAnn Rimes)

If you think that being hurt and being offended are one and the same, you are on the wrong track.
Being hurt is caused because something was done “to you” causing hurt or pain.
Being offended is something you allow to happen. It comes from your reaction to a situation. Maybe it is something someone said to you, and it made you angry. Maybe it was a post on Facebook that made something rise up in you, and you took offense. Notice I said, “you took”. You had a choice, and you chose to be offended.
As Christians, it is our responsibility to act and react in love to ALL situations. That won’t keep the offender from trying to ruffle our feathers, but it will help you to stand against being offended. Learn to let it roll and let it go. You will be a happier individual by choosing peace over conflict.
Get it out of your heart and mind that you MUST have the last word on everything. Walk in Love. Be respectful. Doing this is a fail proof way to stop that spirit of offense to barge into your peaceful life.
1 Corinthians 13:5 TPT
[5] Love does not traffic in shame and disrespect, nor selfishly seek its own honor. Love is not easily irritated or quick to take offense. #helpforyourdailywalk #paulaandthebible
