Trust and Obey Go Together

When you put your trust in someone, you believe that they will follow through with their assignment. They will do what they say.

If you put your trust in the police of your city, you believe they will come and enforce the laws that protect you and your neighbors. There is a caveat of obedience involved. If we are expecting protection, we must be obedient to the laws that are in place. The “law” must be the line that should not be crossed. When you cross that line, you become the one that is disobedient, be aware of that.

We know in our heart that the Lord is on our side. We can confidently trust Him for protection. We should live in obedience to what we know to be His will in our lives.

Here is the first part of an old hymn we used to sing. How many of us sang this without believing what it said?

“When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word

What a glory He sheds on our way!

While we do His good will, He abides with us still

And with all who will trust and obey”

The trust is there, but so is being obedient. They go together for a happy life.

Psalm 9:10 ERV

LORD, those who know your name come to you for protection. And when they come, you do not leave them without help. #paulaandthebible #helpforyourdailywalk
