Time to Start Chowing Down

I’m gonna date myself again today by mentioning a commercial from the 80’s.
Who remembers this…
“I don't wanna grow up
Because maybe if I did
I couldn't be a Toys R Us kid”
The store they were advertising was so full of toys; a kid could stay there for hours and still not see it all. They drew you into the narrative that, if you grew up, “no more fun for you”.
Many Christians are in a similar. narrative. They have never grown up to the point of really understanding the Word. The reason is they have never gotten out of the “toy” (milk) section of the scriptures. What I mean is they have never really dug a little deeper into all God has for them. They’ve played it safe, so to speak, and just nibbled a little on the promises of God.
Let me encourage you to do more than that. Look at what is being said and apply it to your life. Meditate on it and let it sink into your heart. The power to shape your life into all that God wants for you is in your hands. He has given His Word to us to help us distinguish between what is good and what is harmful. You can still have plenty of fun. Otherwise, why did God say that “laughter was good like a medicine?”
Pray for spiritual understanding as you begin to “chow down” on God's Word. Ask for guidance from the those you trust to help you and are willing to aid in your spiritual development.
Get out of the toy department, you are not a “kid” anymore. YOU have the power…you don’t need the marvel heroes. God is your source, but YOU have to study and understand as you mature in your faith.
Hebrews 5:14 TPT
[14] But solid food is for the mature, whose spiritual senses perceive heavenly matters. And they have been adequately trained by what they've experienced to emerge with understanding of the difference between what is truly excellent and what is evil and harmful.
