The Ripple Effect in Your Life

My dad taught me many things, but the thing I want to share with you today helps us understand this ripple effect that is present in our life.

Anytime we were at a body of water, (the Mississippi River, Lake Wappapello, Current River, Round Springs … etc) my dad would find a smooth flat rock and show his skills at “rock skipping”. He could toss a rock across the water like nobody’s business. It was amazing how many times that rock would jump across the water and the ripples made every time it made contact.

I would then take a turn with my little flat rock to see if I could make as many or more ripples than my daddy had. Of course, I had no chance at beating the pro at it, but I sure gave it a try every time.

I wanted to be like him, which included more than just skipping rocks. I didn’t call it this at the time, but I wanted to make memorable ripples in people’s lives like he did. People loved and appreciated him because he had impacted their lives.

We get to a certain age in our lives when we start to think about how our lives have touched other people’s lives … good and bad. If you are not there yet, believe me … it happens. If you are reading this and you are still young with many years left to make those good impressions, start now to impact those around you with a “life well lived”.

If you weren’t given a good example to follow, change that in your life and become the bright light that shows others the right way to live. Be the “ripple of hope” person that guides others to Jesus and gives them a legacy of faith to pass on.

Matthew 5:16 KJVS

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. #paulaandthebible #helpforyourdailywalk
