The High Price

We are always looking for a bargain, right? Some will travel for miles just to get a lower price on some item that is important to them. Why is that? They really “want or need” it but are not willing to pay such a high price for it.
What is interesting is that most folks don’t give a second thought to the high price that was paid for us by Jesus. They will continue to live a life that is contrary to what they profess to believe and seem to be totally fine with it.
Jesus traveled from heaven to earth to pay an exorbitant price for each of us. He was okay traveling the distance and paying the price. He gave His all … before, during and after the cross so that there was no balance left for us to pay. He paid it in full, so that anyone who truly believes in His sacrifice could have a forever forgiveness.
Cherish this precious gift. We call it in church circles,” free gift”, but it was never “free” because Jesus paid for it with His very life. We, on the other hand treat it as a free insurance policy. We have a home in heaven when we die. We tend to have an attitude of “since He paid it all, we can live it up”.
Never forget the high price that Jesus gave for you. Let’s vow to live a life worthy of that sacrifice.
Colossians 2:13-14 NLT
[13] You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins. [14] He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross.
