The Direction of Your Mind

Have you ever heard a statement that started with, “I have a mind to”? ________. That blank was usually filled in with something negative. Someone has done something to you and the first thing that comes to your mind is how to get them back. Yikes!
How good would it be for you and the recipient of whoever or whatever you are dealing with, if you changed that line of thought? And if someone were to say to you, “Speak your mind”, what comes out of your mouth (that started in your mind) is affirming and helpful.
Verse 11 tells us that no one knows the thoughts of another person. Only the person having those thoughts actually knows what they are. But the caveat to that is, if your spirit has been connected to God’s Spirit, then your way of thinking can and should align with Him.
It is an active choice of aligning your thinking on God-focused thoughts. We stop just reacting to circumstances and start seeing things from God’s perspective. It is a matter of directing your mind to accessing “the mind of Christ” in all things.
1 Corinthians 2:11,16 ERV
It is like this: No one knows the thoughts that another person has. Only the person's spirit that lives inside knows those thoughts. It is the same with God. No one knows God's thoughts except God's Spirit. [16] As the Scriptures say, "Who can know what is on the Lord's mind? Who is able to give him advice?" But we have been given Christ's way of thinking. #paulaandthebible #helpforyourdailywalk
