The Best Defense, Is What You Do With Offense

I know that is not the original saying, but it works for our topic today. And just as in sports (like basketball, football or soccer) having a good defense is critical in keeping the other team from running up the score. But the best defense is being “proactive” on the offensive side. Getting those goals and baskets in before you are in a bind score wise.
How do you handle offensive situations? Let’s face it, we all get “offended” from time to time. For our sanity, we can’t stay and be swallowed up in offense by those that want to “steal our joy”. We have to learn that sometimes the best defense against that very thing is learning how to deal with offense. Staying in the position of always trying to figure out a plan is exhausting.
Be proactive by learning to FORGIVE no matter what the offense from others. That is your best line of defense. Give forgiveness, even when you can’t see anything happening from the other person. You can’t wait around for an apology from them before you decide to do the right thing.
We don’t have to have our act together before God forgives us of our sins. We come to Him just the way we are and ask for forgiveness and He forgives. We need that kind of forgiveness toward others.
Don’t wait until they “have their act together” before you forgive. Have it proactively nailed down in your spirit that you will ALWAYS forgive.
Colossians 3:13 NLT
Make allowance for each other's faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. #paulaandthebible #helpforyourdailywalk
