Taking the High Road

Remember how in the movie “Wizard of Oz”, they were following the yellow brick road? In the context of the movie, Dorothy was instructed to follow this road and it would take her to someone that could get her back home. In many ways her journey seemed somewhat magical, but along the way there were a multitude of challenges and lessons she went through before she arrived. She continued on her path despite the attacks that came with the journey.
In your own life your "yellow brick road” (your high road) can be challenging with many lessons to be learned. How do you maneuver through what is before you with wisdom? How do you keep going when the road gets rocky and you feel attacked?
First, you must realize that life is not always “magical” or full of things that are easy. Take in the lessons along your path in life (your high road). Learn how to react to the things that take place. Always choose kindness over meanness. Remember that there is a righteous “hate” that “hates sin”, but we are talking about the hate that causes people to turn on each other.
Never choose hate … it only stirs up division and quarrels. Incorporating love instead of hate will quiet down the anger and give confidence that you will see “Gods goodness in the land of the living”.
There will be uncomfortable moments but stay on your “yellow brick road” (the high road) by seeing what the Bible says about how to deal with hatred.
Emanate the love that was shown to us through Jesus … that’s the high road.
Proverbs 10:12 NLT
Hatred stirs up quarrels, but love makes up for all offenses. #paulaandthebible #helpforyourdailywalk
