Snake In The Grass

I was mowing my yard many years ago up next to the side of my house, when (what seem like) out of nowhere a snake came quickly slithering out towards me. I let go of the mower, it went rolling down the slope and I went running with it. I didn’t see the snake because it blended in with the grass.

It is so apparent why the devil is like a snake in the grass. He blends in with your surroundings so well, you don’t realize he’s there until “all of a sudden” you see him appearing in your relationships and other areas of your life.

What should you do when you recognize he has made his appearance known?

That takes me to another snake episode. I was working from home when my hubby called me up to see something that had appeared in the foyer of our Nashville home. You can see in today’s photo what I saw. What in the world? How did it get there and what should we do? Bobby got a stick and picked it up and tossed it across the road out in the country. We took a stand, and it no longer was trying to invade our territory.

Y’all…this is exactly what we need to be doing when that snake in the grass, the devil, tries to invade our lives with his lies and deception. We take a stand against him and make him history.

That’s not all though.

Give yourself to God. Draw near to God by turning your attention toward His way of thinking and doing. Get away from situations that are causing you to sin. Don’t even give the devil a crack to slither into your life.
