Sleeping in Peace

Many of you have periods of time where sleep is just not happening. You spend so much of the night with your mind racing from one thing to another. You will look at the clock and think, “if I go to sleep right now, I will get ‘x amount’ of sleep.” Then your mind starts racing again.

I can attest to the above, because that has been me from time to time. It can be miserable! This time of year, those racing thoughts can get crazy.

Getting enough rest is crucial to your health and wellbeing. Always remember that God intends for us to be healthy and live a long and prosperous (all go well for you) life. If that is the case, and it is, we need to relax and do things that calm our minds before we retire for the evening.

Today’s scripture has helped me immensely to calm down. Another suggestion would be to do calming activities instead of things that get you all hyped up before bed. A nice book, a calming tea (definitely not coffee) or listening to some calming music. Think on how much God loves you and read Proverbs 3:24. Then close your eyes in peace.

Proverbs 3:24 ERV

[24] When you lie down, you will not be afraid. When you rest, your sleep will be peaceful. #paulaandthebible #helpforyourdailywalk
