See What You Want to See

It is so easy to look at someone else’s life and see what you want to see. You see them doing things that, to you, are obvious missteps. You crucify them with your words as you share with others what you’ve heard (whether it’s true or not). You twist the knife by embellishing the story ever so slightly. This happens over and over again as it is shared from person to person. By the time the tale gets back to the one who made that misstep, they’ve become a part of the “Manson clan”. Get my drift?
When we mess up ourselves, we explain it as our intention was not to hurt anyone, but then do not extend that same grace to others. We should always check ourselves before ever passing judgment on another person.
When we realize the only way, we can truly see clearly about any situation is to make sure we are appropriately seeing it through eyes of grace.
So thankful that God knows the intent of my heart and shows me grace every day. I want to extend the same to others.
Matthew 7:3 NLT
