You’ve heard it said, “It cost you nothing to be kind to someone!” If this is true, why is it so difficult to be kind to those that are not very nice to us? Our tendency is to dig our heels in and decide to allow hate to rule. Kindness is not innate; it is a conscious choice.

Being kind can be tricky though.

The atmosphere we live in today has become so toxic. Toxic to the point that for many, they are afraid to walk down the street where they live. You’ve seen the news reports where innocent people are minding their own business, and they are blindsided by disturbed individuals.

What about those that are filled with so much hatred that they are willing to take the life of someone they disagree with?

How is this dangerous toxicity turned around? How do we love others that have total contempt for us?

The most radical love we can show can only come from God. This radical love will bring us to pray for those that want to do us harm. Not just any prayer, but a prayer for their heart and life to change.

Being kind enough to pray for harmful people doesn’t mean you allow them access to you. It means you pray for them to know and understand the radical love of Jesus that can change their life in an instant.

With that said, never let your guard down.

Always be aware of your surroundings. Pray for a hedge of protection around you and those you love and care about.

Luke 6:27-28 NLT

[27] "But to you who are willing to listen, I say, love your enemies! Do good to those who hate you. [28] Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who hurt you. #helpforyourdailywalk #paulaandthebible
