A song by the Platters starts out with these words:

“Oh-oh, yes, I'm the great pretender

Pretending that I'm doing well

My need is such, I pretend too much

I'm lonely, but no one can tell.”

There is a couple of ways to see this as a friend. Do you pretend that you are doing great, but so lonely that you ache inside? OR. Do you pretend to be a friend to someone, but in reality, you are just faking it?

When you are lonely and need friends, be vulnerable and don’t hide how you feel. Sometimes those close to you get oblivious to others. They don’t mean to be that way, it’s just that their life gets busy.

What most people, including me, want and need are friends that really and truly care about them.

Someone that will stick through the bad times as much as celebrating the good.

I’ve heard it said that “the way to tell who your real friends are is to see who is still standing with you, when your life has fallen apart.” If they are gone with the wind, they were more than likely “fake”.

True friends will help you find your strength to take another step. True friends will help you trust again. They will understand your heart.

Don’t pretend you care about someone…really care.

Proverbs 18:24 TLB

[24] There are "friends" who pretend to be friends, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. #helpforyourdailywalk #paulaandthebible
