Oh, My Goodness!! How many remember the phrase, “pretty is as pretty does”.? Thinking of it this morning took me all the way back to my childhood. It was 5th grade when I first heard it said. It was directed at me in a very negative way, and it made me so mad. How dare her say that to me! Haha. Well, as I look back, I probably deserved it a little.

But I am an adult now. An adult that takes responsibility for how she is perceived. I have realized that inner beauty is so much greater than how I look on the outside.

I can paint my face and put on perfume and to the world look as if I am all put together. But if I open my mouth and the only thing that they hear is hateful and ugly comments, then I might as well be a stinky ole plain Jane.

I desire to be precious in Gods sight. He is the one that defines my worth. If I am being the person that He wants me to be, then I will be doing what He wants me to do. That “pretty is as pretty does” will apply to me in a positive way.

1 Peter 3:4 NLT

[4] You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God. #helpforyourdailywalk #paulaandthebible
