Place Your Trust in a Sure Thing

The question that surrounds most of us these days, “Who can I trust?” We’ve been tricked and duped so many times by those we thought were dependable and trustworthy; to find out they were merely shysters with clever speech. It makes us “gun-shy” if you know what I mean.

I want to reassure you that there is someone who you absolutely CAN trust. There are all kinds of descriptions of Him in the Word. He was actually the One who created mankind. Without Him, nothing was made. He knew you before you were born (while you were still floating around in your mom). He was the One that healed and calmed storms. He has been there in your life in the good and the bad times. You can find Him to be a dependable source of comfort and joy.

This verse and chorus of another old spiritual came to mind today,

“He’s God when the lightning flashes

He’s God when the thunder rolls

He’s God way up in heaven

He’s God down in my soul

[Chorus]

I know God is God

And God don't never change

I know God is God”

God will always keep His promises to you. He doesn’t ever move away from you. You put that distance you feel there. Just like the prodigal son came to his senses and returned to his earthly father, you too can return to the Heavenly Father’s open arms. His “kindness will astound you”. His mercy and goodness never change.

Psalm 100:5 TPT

[5] For the Lord is always good and ready to receive you. He's so loving that it will amaze you- so kind that it will astound you! And he is famous for his faithfulness toward all.
