Oh No You Don't; You Lying Devil

Have you ever been around a consistent liar? I used to have an acquaintance in grade school that I knew almost everything that came out of her mouth was a lie or an exaggerated tale. She wanted so bad to be a part of those I hung with that she continued to tell stuff individually to us to be against each other. Not sure how she thought that would work, but she still tried her best to divide and conquer.

Why did this tactic not work? We all recognized what she was up to and decided not to allow her deceptive behavior hurt us. I never understood why anyone thinks lying is ever good. The truth always seems to come out in the open. Even the things that we think are hidden will one day according to the scripture, be “shouted from the housetops”.

In John 8:44 we see that Jesus refers to Satan (the devil) as the father of lies. He believes that he can “outsmart” us with the things he feeds to our minds. But there is no way that can happen with a mind that is renewed to the truth in the Word. We become aware of what he is up to. We recognize his schemes to try to destroy us and we reject them.

When the devil tries to steal, kill and destroy our faith…we meet it with “oh no you don’t”. “My Heavenly Father has more for me than you have to offer. He wants me to have a full and blessed life. I choose life!”

2 Corinthians 2:11 NLT

[11] …Satan will not outsmart us. For we are familiar with his evil schemes. #paulaandthebible #helpforyourdailywalk
