Sometimes you have to just make up your mind to be happy. Those times when it seems as though the world is crushing in on you, are the very times you push back and say, “No!” This situation is NOT going to steal my joy.

Some confuse true happiness with having things this world can give. Things like a big house, an expensive vehicle, an overpriced education, name brand clothes, a fat bank account, a sought after job, and credit cards with unlimited use are not what brings happiness. This may only indicates that you have the ability to borrow. If something unexpected happened and all of that was lost, there goes the joy.

Happiness is a contentment that comes when you are able to recognize where your joy comes from. We have no way of seeing the scope of all God’s plan. But like Solomon, we can begin to realize that we should enjoy the life we have as gifts from God.

Choose happiness over circumstances.

Ecclesiastes 3:11-13 NLT

[11] Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God's work from beginning to end. [12] So I concluded there is nothing better than to be happy and enjoy ourselves as long as we can. [13] And people should eat and drink and enjoy the fruits of their labor, for these are gifts from God. #helpforyourdailywalk #paulaandthebible
