Not Shaken or Stirred

One of the lines in the old James Bond movies was how he took his drink, “shaken, not stirred”. Since I’m not a connoisseur of mixed drinks, I’m not sure what difference that made, but it must’ve been important to him in some way.

But something important to me is to NOT allow past experiences shake my faith. I am someone that has been through some “stuff” that if I’m not careful could cause my faith to slip. What makes a difference for me is that I have made a determination to not allow that to happen.

I will not be shaken or stirred in what I believe. I will not put my past mistakes in front of me to condemn me over and over again. I either believe that Jesus forgives me, or I don’t. I choose to believe and not be shaken.

My path is forward and living in the joy that comes from knowing He gives me rest and safety. He gives me guidance so that I can stand firm in my faith.

Constantly looking back can mess up what you have now and in your future. Don’t get a “crick in your neck” living in your past. Look forward to what God has for you. It’s the good stuff.

Psalm 16:8-9,11 NLT

[8] I know the LORD is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me. [9] No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice. My body rests in safety. [11] You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever. #paulaandthebible #helpforyourdailywalk
