Motivation with a Side of Humility

This picture gained a lot of attention yesterday and it brought to mind a quote by Zig Ziglar about motivation. It puts a clever twist on the daily motivation that we all need. You can’t expect to be clean if you never step into a shower. If you only wash your face, the rest of your body still stinks. You would never “dabble” in your hygiene, right? That would be a whole lot of crazy.

What about your health? Do you take health seriously? For example: You can’t dabble in a “diet” (let’s call it a new way of eating) and expect the weight to fall off and be healthier. It takes dedication and being motivated to achieve your “best health”, not just lose weight. We all need to be motivated with a reason “why” you are doing whatever it is and remind yourself of that “why” every single day. No more “cheat days” that tend to sabotage your success.

When you see someone who has been successful doing something, you begin to want the same thing for yourself. And get this, you may have to “lose to win.” In our case, we had to lose the pounds to gain our health. You may have to lose those sweets (sugar is a killer) but gain a better way to live. A healthy way. A way that adds more years to your life instead of stealing precious years.

What you need more than anything is the motivation to “never give up” until you achieve your end goal. Motivation can take on many different forms. Pick what works for you.

Whatever it takes to motivate you to never give up comes from the space between your ears. That “never give up” attitude is crucial for success in anything. I once heard it said, “Attitude is everything”. It may not be everything, but it goes a long way to giving you “the extra” you need.

Now, let’s say you have lost weight and are healthier than you have been in a really long time…do you keep that info to yourself, or do you help others with what worked for you? Be a “pay it forward” kind of person. Help others and be humble, knowing you reap what you sow.

Sow good stuff y’all!

Proverbs 3:34-35 GNT

[34] He has no use for conceited people but shows favor to those who are humble. [35] Wise people will gain an honorable reputation, but stupid people will only add to their own disgrace. #helpforyourdailywalk #paulaandthebible
