Monday Morning Complainer

It’s so easy for a fan of a team to watch a game on tv or in person and be critical of what everyone did. They love to “armchair quarterback” as if they could’ve done a much better job. Then on Monday morning, they gather around the cooler and give the players and officials H-E- “double hockey stick” for Sunday’s game. What in the world? Did you actually participate in the game or just watch it? Hmmm
What about church? Whether you watch online or you sit in a pew, do you find yourself saying, “If it were me and in charge, I wouldn’t do things like that!” You may even go as far as to say, “Until that preacher preaches like I want him to preach, no more of my money is headed there”.
Before you decide to withhold your Biblical directed tithe, have you done your part in praying for your pastor? Have you stepped up and helped he and his family when they had needs?
Being a “PK”, I can’t express how grateful we were when the folks in the church loved on us. They were “doers of the Word”. They didn’t just hear what dad had to say on Sunday to discover what they could complain about on Monday. They listened with understanding about giving of themselves and did something. We were included in their lives, not just Sunday, but Monday too.
Participants in the gospel are much better than spectators of the gospel. How do you participate? You share His love with others. You help when you can to meet a need. You keep criticism to yourself and commit it to prayer. You never become the one everyone knows they can go to “to get the latest gossip”.
If you are only listening to or reading the scriptures and not applying them or doing what they say, today’s scripture says you are just fooling yourself.
Or another way to say it, “you are being foolish”.
James 1:22 NLT
[22] But don't just listen to God's word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. #paulaandthebible #helpforyourdailywalk
