Live What You Believe

There’s a line in the song “I Have Decided” that Amy Grant used to sing that says, “I’m gonna live what I believe.” I love that line and the fact that right before that, it says you have to turn your back on the deceiver.

That right there is a recipe for a satisfying life. Don’t give the devil any place or take up any space in your life. Live what you believe!

I have a verse in the Bible that I have claimed as my own for many years. It is for a situation that has been so very difficult for me, and I’ve cried many a tear over.

Psalm 27:13 NLT “Yet I am confident I will see the LORD's goodness while I am here in the land of the living.” I stand on that hope and know that God can be trusted to keep His promises. I have to tune out all of what the devil throws my way (and believe me, it’s a lot).

God is faithful and true in all situations. Even those that seem insurmountable. Consider Sarah and her promise of a son. God proved Himself faithful even where there was doubt and confusion. She got that son and the rest as they say, is history.

If you are clinging to a promise for your life, remember Abraham and Sarah. Their promise for a son didn’t happen in their timetable. But when the time was right, they indeed saw the fruition of that promise.

As another song says, “Build your life on things eternal and hold to God’s unchanging hand.”

Live what you believe. Be patient. Trust God to always keep His promise.
