Lazybones

It is so easy to just laze around and do nothing. I think that is the reason most people get so good at it. It takes effort to actually get up and achieve something.
I’m not saying that we can’t have “off” days of relaxation and rest. That is needed too. What I’m talking about is the lack of motivation to accomplish anything with your life. I’m talking about wanting a good life, but not willing to put forth the effort to have one.
You may be someone who’s always “mooching” off of others…how’s that going for you? In the short term it may seem great, but in the long run you will just be a taker and never have the joy of giving.
When you look in the faces of those that believe in you (your family and friends) do you see respect and honor or disappointment and dissolution?
Something I’ve always tried to incorporate, is the phrase, “work as unto the Lord”. If we will stop being lazybones and start doing things we know we need to do, happiness/success/fulfillment is right there waiting.
Just because I am retired doesn’t mean I should stop being productive. I can do it at a different pace, but still be a person that gets off the couch to continue a close relationship with the Lord and help others with enthusiasm. Maybe you can’t get off the couch, in that case…use your voice and that contraption called a cellphone and call people. Someone may need to hear encouragement from you. Don’t use any excuses for laziness.
When you help others, you are helped. Give to others and it comes back to you. You can’t do that by being a lazy moocher.
