Are you a good judge of character? If you’re like me, I have always wanted to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. But I realize, even that can be tricky.
I know you’ve heard it said, “Not everything that glitters is gold.” It looks good and sounds good but is it true and real?
We have to be smart in who we listen to. There are those that claim to know the scripture and even have a great presentation but are filling your mind with platitudes and untruths. Been there, done that and have the T-shirt. Ha.
When you listen to someone try to tell you “Their” interpretation of a verse of scripture, do your own research. Go to the Bible and read the verses before and after. Check different translations. Does what they are saying make sense in light of the Bible as a whole? Don’t just always take their word for it. They may seem smart with all their “highfalutin talk”, but what they are saying could be just that…talk with no substance.
As the message translation says, “enjoy the best of Jesus.” How?
Live wisely. Be smart. Don’t be gullible. Stay alert.
Romans 16:19b-20 MSG
“ …I want you also to be smart, making sure every "good" thing is the real thing. Don't be gullible in regard to smooth-talking evil. Stay alert like this, and before you know it the God of peace will come down on Satan with both feet, stomping him into the dirt. Enjoy the best of Jesus! #helpforyourdailywalk #paulaandthebible
