I Shall Not Be Moved

I remember so well singing this chorus:
“Like a tree planted by the water,
I shall not be moved.”
Not sure I totally understood what I was singing back then, but I do now.

Did you know that a tree that is planted by water is going to flourish? The reason this is true is because there is no need for any kind of worry about drought or other issues. It is being nourished inside and out. It has roots that are given nourishment from the water and the outside being nourished by the sun. This gives that tree strength like no other tree planted away from that source. Think about that for a second.
Where do we, as children of God get our strength? If we have our roots firmly planted in the Word, there is no way we will allow ourselves to be moved by what is happening around us. We will “stay strong in the Lord and in the power is His might”. Not our own might, but His might. He gives us all we need through His Word to do that.
The season of life we are in will take extraordinary strength to navigate. If we move ourselves away from God, our influence will wither like leaves on a tree without water.
Don’t be moved!
Jeremiah 17:7-8 NLT
[7] "But blessed are those who trust in the LORD and have made the LORD their hope and confidence. [8] They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit. #helpforyourdailywalk #paulaandthebible
