I Have Decided

When you made your decision to follow Jesus, have you ever turned away from it to follow other people or things? How did that work out for you?
Like we used to sing in an invitation song, we should all continue to be resolute in our faith, “I have decided to follow Jesus, no turning back.” No turning back to the beliefs or actions that got you in an undesirable situation.
When you break it down, you make a decision (a determination; a conclusion) based on what the scripture says. You believe it because the Word says it, not because you “feel” it is true. You can’t rely on your feelings. They are fickle. Some days you may “feel” happy and content, and then other days you may “feel” sad and unhappy. You need to exercise the faith within you to defeat those negative emotions.
Having faith is a decision to believe what the Bible says is true and act like you believe it. Maybe things in your life aren’t manifesting as quickly as you anticipated, that doesn’t mean it is not going to happen.
Keep the faith! Know that you don’t have to “lose heart”. Allow the Lord to strengthen your heart in the wait.
Even in the midst of my own tears, I have made the decision to take today’s scripture as a promise for me in my life. I have faith that He will give me the strength to never lose heart and to see His goodness all around me as I wait for changes to take place. And I continue to believe that “God is good, and His Mercy endures forever!”
Psalm 27:13-14 NKJV
[13] I would have lost heart, unless I had believed That I would see the goodness of the LORD In the land of the living. [14] Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD!
