I Get It, Quit Trying to Make a Point

Good grief Charlie Brown!!!! Your point is well taken, I get it!
Sometimes the best thing for us to do in most (really in all) situations is to just stop talking. We are so focused on getting OUR point across, we do not take into consideration the fact that we are repeating ourselves over and over and over again.
We get caught up in “knowing” we are right regardless of the possibility that may not be true. That kind of superiority is just downright selfish. You have two ears and one mouth. Don’t ignore two of your attributes just because you’ve allowed one to take center stage.
I love the way it states this in Proverbs as a “multitude of words”. Haha. A Multitude is a lot of words.
And when you feel the need to continuously speak “too much” …look what follows. “Sin is not lacking!” In other words, it leads to sin, either by the talker or the one who is being “set straight.”
What we all need to learn to do, comes from the last part of the verse…” restrain our lips”. Being sensible or using wisdom and understanding when to stop talking and actually listen to what the other person is saying.
Let me end this devotional with a reminder that “Love covers a multitude of sins.” If we walk in love, we will know when we’ve said enough. Don’t kid yourself, you will know. Just follow that love tug in your heart and be wise instead of wanting to be right.
Proverbs 10:19 NKJV
[19] In the multitude of words sin is not lacking, But he who restrains his lips is wise. #helpforyourdailywalk #paulaandthebible
