Home is Where the Heart Is

My home … the Maupin Cottage. It is where I live, but if the folks in it (me and Bobby) do not base all we do on our love for God and His love for us, that cottage could become a house where we just sleep and eat. We don’t want that in our home and refuse to have less than God’s best

I’m not saying that everything we have done has been neat and pretty. But we are two people that have sinned, found forgiveness and are striving to do the right things at this time of our lives. We have messed up, and I’m sure will mess up again from time to time. Knowing Gods love and forgiveness in our lives has made a huge impact on how we look at life.

The difference in our home now … we have changed our focus. Love for God and others is first. Our attitudes could still use a little work. We sometimes allow our “feelings” to take over, and when we do, there is negative feedback between us as a result. We usually recognize when this happens and make changes. It is a conscience effort where we must remember “it takes two to tango”. This means we both have to accept our part in a disagreement.

What’s your home look like? Has God made His home in your life? Does love rule supreme or does selfishness take first place there?

Your home reflects the people that live there. If home is where the heart is … does love for Christ have first place there?

John 14:23 NLT

Jesus replied, "All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them. #paulaandthebible #helpforyourdailywalk
