Here I Am

Bobby and I watched a movie years ago where a phrase that was used … stuck with us. It was made by a character named Ruby Thewes who had some experience in farming in the 1800’s. She went to the home of Ada (who was depending on the kindness of neighbors to help her after her father passed) to give her some much needed help with the farm. Without the help of others, Ada would not make it.
Ruby told her something that made a huge difference in her life … “If you need help, here I am!” The way she said it and the intent of what she was offering was so cool. Isn’t that a wonderful thing to say?
She made herself accessible to Ada. Sure, she had some farming skills, but the most important thing she said was that she was there for her.
You don’t have to have major skills to do great things for others. Being present and willing to do the things you can is most important. The skill comes as you do.
The prophet Isaiah made it clear that he was willing to do what was needed. Like Ruby, he said, “Here I am”.
Be accessible.
Isaiah 6:8 ERV
Then I heard the Lord's voice, saying, "Who can I send? Who will go for us?" So I said, "Here I am. Send me!" #paulaandthebible #helpforyourdailywalk
